Here at Dog Gone Amazing, we love our dogs and will do anything to provide support for them and others like them. We’re always looking out for the health and well-being of our canine friends. In this post, we’ll share a few of the dog charities we think are doing right to help dogs everywhere.
We know dogs can sometimes get lost, be abandoned or otherwise wind up without a warm home. Therefore, we need shelters to be able to help the many dogs in need. SPCA of Northern Nevada has long helped dogs get out of the elements and find new homes with new owners who love them. For that, we believe they need a big recognition (and many paw-handshakes from the dogs they help).
The SPCA is Reno’s original “no-kill” shelter whose mission is to be able “to provide responsible treatment for homeless dogs and cats.” What they do for pets is amazing; it really is. SPCA rescues pets and places them in homes. They also promote spaying and neutering to control pet overpopulation, which is HUGE (that’s why Bob Barker from Price is Right was always reminding us).
The SPCA is community-funded. They rely on adoption revenues and their thrift store profits. By donating to them, we can all make a difference to the at-risk dogs and other pets they rescue every day and find them warm, comfortable, loving homes.
Another one of our favorite dog charities is the Nevada Humane Society.
The Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides care to over 8,000 animals each year. The donations they accept go to better care and treatment for the animals they help and care for.
With all we get caught up in, we just wanted to take a second to take this time to show care for these two great companies who care for in-need animals. Everyone here at Dog Gone Amazing would like to thank everyone who has contributed their time and money to helping these companies and others like them make the world a better place for in-need dogs, cats and more.
